Did you know that despite being the LARGEST growing age group in our valley, no research has been done on the 18-25 (young adult) population in Eagle County?

Mountain Youth, with the help of OMNI, is excited to launch the Young Adult Survey starting February 1st! Similar to Healthy Kids and the Parent Survey, the young adult survey will collect important local data including demographics, mental health, substance use, social interaction, and more questions that are concerning to the young adult population. Vanessa Contreras and Armando Fuentes are two local young adults leading this project, and they are looking to engage as many young adults as possible in this survey collection. Data will be available to the public in late April. The survey is anonymous for those taking it.

Parent Survey

Parents and caregivers of the Eagle River Valley are invited to participate in this anonymous survey administered by Mountain Youth, in conjunction with the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey for 6th-12th grade youth. We feel it is important that these two surveys occur simultaneously to foster conversation with your child(ren) about these important topics.

Filling out this survey should take about 15-20 minutes. The collected data is anonymous and the results will be analyzed by Mountain Youth and Communities That Care. Our short-term goal is to provide parent perceptions and neighborhood behaviors to our community with the long-term goal of improving overall health outcomes.

Please take this survey once, even if you have more than one child. All questions are optional, if there's a question you don't feel like answering or doesn't apply, feel free to move on to the next. Some of the questions may be difficult or triggering. We have provided a list of resources at the end of the survey and encourage you to reach out should you want to talk to anyone or access support.

It is important to note that we define "youth" as anyone 25 or younger, aligning with the state definition.

As a thank you for filling out this survey, at the end, you will be able to indicate the school or local nonprofit you would like to receive a portion of the incentive fund.

The last day to take this survey is February 23, 2024.

Thank you so much for your participation. Please direct any questions to info@mountainyouth.org.

Mountain Youth coordinated the administration of the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey for the ninth time over a twelve-year span in November of 2021. Partnering with 14 public and private schools, 3,786 students were surveyed, providing valuable insight about 6th -12th graders in the Eagle River Valley. This insight allows educators, nonprofit leaders, policymakers, and community program providers to keep a pulse on the behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions of young people in the community.

This data is used to steer programming and secure much-needed resources, helping local and statewide policy efforts by utilizing the identified strengths and barriers facing youth. HKCS data helps bring in millions of dollars annually for community partners to support identified needs.

Mountain Youth has partnered with Eagle Valley Behavioral Health, an outreach of Vail Health, to introduce the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey Dashboard to the community. This user-friendly platform allows for a better understanding and breakdown of middle and high school youth behavioral data. The dashboard incorporates data from past years to recognize trends. Users will be able to filter by various demographics for 2017-2019 data. The dashboard is accessible in English and Spanish. It breaks down the information from different behavior areas by years and allows users to filter by grade, age, gender, and ethnicity
