    Amy VanWel Youth-Serving Sector Amy Vanwel has served as principal at Berry Creek Middle School in Edwards since 2011, and was a teacher and assistant principal at Summit Middle School for 11 years prior. Amy earned a BA in Education at Michigan State University and an MA in Educational Leadership & Administration at Adams State University. She has two sons and represents the youth-serving sector on the board.

    Abby Wiens Education Sector I moved to Colorado in 1998 and have enjoyed living in small mountain towns ever since. I was a Middle School Art teacher for 13 years in Gunnison and the Vail Valley. I pursued my Principal License when I realized that my passion and dedication for public education could reach a greater impact in an administrative role. This is my third year as Assistant Principal for Eagle Valley High School in Gypsum. I am very passionate about my work as an administrator in helping create a positive school culture in which all students feel a sense of belonging, and I love supporting teachers in their influential role. I have a B.A. in Fine Arts, a M.A. in Education - Curriculum & Instruction, and a Principal License. I live in Eagle with my husband and black lab, and I love working with the students and families in my community.

    Craig Bettis Law Enforcement Sector Vail Police Commander Craig Bettis is a public safety and operational leader with 18 years of law enforcement experience and 13 years of tactical experience. During Craig’s law enforcement career he has worked as a Patrol Officer, Investigator, DEA Task Force Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Investigations Sergeant and, in 2009, was promoted to Commander overseeing all operational and investigative staffing. Craig has a long history of tactical policing with assignments as a SWAT Team Leader, a member of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, Incident Commander and also Division Group Supervisor for all Vail Special Events. Craig obtained a B.A. in Sociology and Criminology from Colorado State University. He is a 2008 graduate of the Senior Institute for Police Management at Boston University, a 2009 graduate of the Command Staff Institute, and a 2014 graduate of the FBI Command College. ​

    Greta Grems Youth Representative Valley's Voice Greta attends Vail Christian High School. As a Saint, Greta loves being a part of the volleyball and the soccer teams. More extracurricular activities she is a part of include the following: Student Council, the Drama Department, and Yearbook Committee. Greta is excited to be a member of both the Youth Leadership Council and the Board of Directors for Mountain Youth. She finds this to be a great opportunity to share her ideas on how to improve the lives of her peers in her community.

    Korrine Winstead Secretary Substance Abuse Sector Korrine is a Probation Officer for the 5th Judicial District overseeing Eagle County youth and the Senate Bill 94 program for Clear Creek, Eagle, Lake and Summit Counties. Korrine graduated with a degree in Social Work from Colorado State University and has worked with at-risk youth throughout her career. Korrine grew up in Northern Colorado and moved to the Vail Valley 16 years ago. She lives in Eagle with her husband and two daughters. Volunteering is a passion of hers and believes that being part of the Mountain Youth Board is a great way to serve and support our youth in Eagle County. ​

    Fernando Almanza Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) Education Coordinator Fernando volunteered with Mountain Youth for several years before he signed on as Graduated Driver Licensing Education Coordinator in 2020. Fernando is involved in all facets of our community: as an Eagle County 911 Dispatcher and a volunteer with Bright Future Foundation's Buddy Mentor Program, Communities that Care, No DUI Steering Committee, Family Leadership Training Institute, Red Ribbon Project, Special Olympics Polar Plunge and Bright Future’s Crisis Hotline, and as a Board of Educationmember. Fernando graduated from Battle Mountain High School and brings enthusiasm, experience and connection to the young people he works with.

    Betsy Van Beek joined Mountain Youth in 2018 to teach the Life Skills program to elementary, middle and high school students. She teaches concepts such as +++ read more Tsvetelina Fuentes Community Mobilizer Tsveti joined the Mountain Youth Team in July 2021. She has a degree in International Relations from the University Of National And World Economy in Sofia. In 2001, Tsveti moved to Eagle County from Bulgaria where she was born and raised. Since then she has been in hospitality and retail roles in the valley until 2008 when Tsveti started work at Brush Creek Elementary. She spent 13 productive years with Eagle County School District as a Registrar, Office Manager, Spanish Teacher and ELL Teacher. Tsveti has a multicultural life experience and speaks English, Spanish and Bulgarian fluently. Dedicated to the youth and the community, Tsveti is enthusiastic about the process of bringing diverse perspectives together, equity design and inclusion!

    Diana Loera Tu Guia Coordinator Diana Loera joined Mountain Youth in August of 2021 as the Tu Guia Coordinator. Diana has lived in Eagle County for 10 years. In addition to her work with Mountain youth, she is the Youth Violence Prevention Specialist at Bright Future Foundation, a nonprofit that serves people who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. She is also a student at Colorado Mountain College where she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education. Diana loves to serve her community in as many ways as she can and hopes to make a positive impact in her community.

    Kevin Armitage Business Sector Kevin is the Director of Residential Construction Lending for NBH Bank, a Bank Holding company that operates retail banks in five states in including in Colorado as Community Banks of Colorado. Kevin has spent his entire banking career in Eagle County beginning in 1999. Kevin obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from Miami University in Ohio and graduated from The Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin Madison. In addition to serving as a member of the board for Mountain Youth, Kevin serves on the boards for Junior Achievement and the Eagle County Homebuyers’ Assistance Committee. Kevin coaches football at Eagle Valley Middle School and has been an active coach Mountain Rec and Little League Baseball for the past 15 years. Kevin enjoys spending free time with his wife, Courtney, and his two teenaged boys, Davis and Brady.
