    Davis Krueger Youth Representative Valley's Voice Davis Krueger attends Battle Mountain High School. He's a member of the cross country Nordic, and track teams at Battle Mountain. He enjoys living in the Vail Valley so that he can do the things he loves like mountain biking, fly-fishing and hunting. He's also involved in Student Council, Best Buddies, TEDx Youth in the valley, and went to Honduras with Schools For Children of the World last summer to build a school in a underprivileged community. He's on Valley’s Voice to make his voice, as youth, heard and to be be more involved in the community.

    Grace Meinberg Manager of Safe Driving Efforts Grace joined Mountain Youth in 2021 as a Community Mobilizer. In 2018, Grace moved to Eagle County from Wisconsin where she was born and raised. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a BA in Elementary and Special Education. Since moving to Eagle County, Grace has worked with Vail Resorts, Walking Mountains Science Center, and Eagle County School district as a Special Education teacher. Having worked with the youth of the Valley, Grace’s passion and respect for her new community has grown exponentially. She looks forward to seeing how she can help impact the community by working collaboratively with any and all members of the community.

    Denise Kipp Director of Education Denise began formally working with Mountain Youth in September 2017 as Prevention Manager, although she had worked in partnership with Mountain Youth as the Director of the Red Ribbon Project. Denise was born and raised just outside of New York City, finished her Masters Degree at Iona College and began teaching high school science in Manhattan. After a short ski trip to Vail, she decided it was time to make a change and moved to Eagle County in 1998. Denise was a middle school teacher in Eagle County School District for 12 years, and has a firm grasp of the issues our local youth are facing. Denise has an intense desire to support local youth in their development and understanding of themselves.

    Joey Staufer Law Enforcement Sector Chief of Police, Joey Staufer has been in law enforcement since 1997. He served the Colorado communities of Dillon and Breckenridge before transferring to the Town of Eagle as a mid-level manager, followed by a promotion to the Town’s Chief of Police in December, 2014. Joey has a BS in criminal justice/sociology, graduate work in criminal justice, and holds additional certificates of accredited specialized training. As a native of our Eagle River Valley, Joey graduated Battle Mountain High School and began a career in the hospitality industry prior to answering the call of community service through police work. Joey was motivated to return to our valley to be with family and to reconnect with his community. He lives in Eagle with his wife and three children.

    Betsy Van Beek joined Mountain Youth in 2018 to teach the Life Skills program to elementary, middle and high school students. She teaches concepts such as +++ read more Norma Gurrola Community Liaison Norma joined the Mountain Youth team in August of 2021 as our Community Liaison. Norma's parents brought her to Colorado 21 years ago in order to provide her with a better life and education. She has four children and a three-year-old dog named Manchitas. Norma felt compelled to give back to her community after receiving assistance when her family was in need. She worked for Eagle County Neighborhood Navigators, where she felt there was a lot to be done in this neighborhood. She wanted to begin by creating relationships and trust with the residents of the community, and this is how she began advocating for them. A bus route to and from Dotesero was one of the primary projects on which she worked for seven years. This is a significant achievement that demonstrates her commitment to the community.

    Jen Coulson Treasurer Business Sector ​ Jennifer currently serves as a Realtor for Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties. She has a full-time career in real estate sales and is managing director of the Coldwell Banker office in Vail Village. Born and raised in Kansas City, Jennifer moved to the valley permanently in January of 2001. Jennifer graduated from SMU in Dallas, in 1996, but couldn't stay away from the mountains for long. She now lives in the valley with her two daughters, both born in Vail, Brecklyn and Balianna. Family is one of the most important things to Jennifer. ​

    Cameron Dole Youth Engagement Coordinator Cam joined the Mountain Youth team in the Spring of 2021. Cam's stoke, passion, and charismatic personality made him the best fit for our Youth Engagement Coordinator. Formerly a camp counselor, wilderness coordinator, and swim coach, Cam has guided, excited, and learned from youth for the past seven years. Graduating from Linfield University with a degree in Environmental Policy, Cam’s connection with the environment runs deep. The Eagle Valley is a perfect place for Cam to call home, where he will be found among the mountains, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and adventuring with his cat Wilson. What excites Cam the most about this position is the opportunity to help youth to find & pursue what excites them and engaging students to open, fill, and question their minds.

    Mindy Larson Religious Sector Mindy assumed the role of Principal at Vail Christian High School in July 2017, after serving as Vail Christian’s Dean of Students, Guidance Counselor and Science Department Chair. She began her teaching career as a high school school biology and chemistry teacher, first in North Dakota then in Eagle County where she has taught for over 15 years. During her years in education, Mindy has enjoyed working with students in a variety of capacities both inside and outside the classroom. She has worked as an independent college counselor, coached Science Olympiad teams and other science competitions, and has coordinated education abroad travel trips for students for many years. In addition, Mindy has coordinated student internships, educational summer programs, and school mission trips and is actively engaged in the Communities that Care (CTC) process. Mindy holds both a BS in Biology and M.S. in Special Education from Minot State University, and M.A.in Educational Leadership from the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. Her hobbies include traveling, cross country skiing, hiking, trail running, and gardening.

    Kristi Grems MA, LPC, LAC, Mental Health Counselor, Shaw Cancer Center Kristi Grems is a licensed professional counselor and licensed addiction counselor whom worked in community mental health for 12 years. During this time, she worked with children, adults, couples and families with a diverse range of mental health diagnosis and held the position of Program Director at Mind Spring Health. In 2018, Kristi transitioned from community mental health counseling to be honored to work with individuals and families with a cancer diagnosis at the Shaw Cancer Center in Edwards Co. Kristi grew up in Ann Arbor, Mi., she earned her bachelor’s degree of Family and Child Development at the Ohio State University in 1995. She worked as a preschool director in Vail, Co. from 1995 to 2001. Kristi than received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2002 from the University of Colorado. Kristi enjoys many outdoor activities with her husband, and two teenage children.

    Elizabeth Suragurrola Elizabeth Sura joined Mountain Youth in May of 2021 as the Safe Driving Project Manager. Elizabeth has lived in Eagle County for 16 years. She is also a student at Battle Mountain. Elizabeth is planning to go to college to peruse her dream of becoming a Nurse."
