Difference Maker: Rachel Glowacki

By Michele Zoller: Operations Manager

This month’s Difference Maker is Rachel Glowacki—a woman who leads with heart, lives with purpose, and reminds us all of the power of engaging with Community.

Six years ago, Rachel and her husband Casey made the move to Eagle County, drawn by the mountain lifestyle and a shared “let’s do it” mentality. Since then, Rachel has become a powerful force for good in our community, blending her passion for mindfulness, youth education and service to others. Her journey began in early childhood education, even teaching 5th grade in Honduras, where she

discovered the deep impact of connecting with young minds. After becoming a mother to two boys, she expanded her focus to include mindfulness, seeing its vital role in parenting and education.

For the past five years, Rachel has served as a facilitator for Mountain Youth’s We Hear You program. In this role, she has helped create safe, open spaces for families to come together and talk about tough topics. Her leadership has made a lasting difference where she finds her greatest joy in seeing families thrive after completing the program, strengthened by meaningful conversations and a deeper understanding of one another. Rachel’s impact doesn’t stop there. She is a yoga instructor who follows the philosophy of taking care of oneself while taking care of others.  She is co-creator of Move with Me Books, which brings books to life through storytime yoga, combining movement, mindfulness, and storytelling to engage children in a unique and powerful way.  Additionally, Rachel is a newly published author, having recently released her first children’s book, “All Through the CROWN”.  Currently, sold through Kind Cotton (Tom’s Shoes for Literacy) where you buy a book and one is donated with purpose.   Encouraging to shop locally with access to signed copies at Bookworm of Edwards, Eagle-Mountain Market and The Spa at the Westin, Avon.  And if that was not enough, Rachel recently accepted the nomination to the Eagle County Board of Education, where she is excited to serve in that capacity to support teachers and students to have what they need to learn and grow in a positive manner.

Rachel credits her inspiration to her faith, her two sons, now in college, and her supportive husband Casey, who as well is making a difference in our community in his own way. This support system fuels her desire to help others live meaningful, connected lives. She believes that helping others is not only a calling but has an inherent health benefit providing an internal source of joy and happiness. “The science shows that working in service lights up a part of our brain that makes us happy,” she says. “We are meant to be here for a reason—let’s all make the most of it.”
