Mountain Youth exists to boost leadership and advising opportunities for youth through collaboration. The young people we aim to engage exhibit traits such as compassion, integrity, honesty, and hard work. When recruiting youth to serve at our highest level of involvement, members of the Board of Directors of our agency. As he embodies all of these characteristics, Davis Krueger rose to the top of our list.
Davis enters every endeavor he pursues with perseverance and a positive attitude. I have been humbled to serve with Davis over the past four years through his involvement with Mountain Youth’s leadership and advocacy programs, and he authentically embodies our values of trusted leadership, inclusivity and bridging community. Beyond Mountain Youth, Davis’s academic highlights include academic all-state first team in three sports and Advanced Placement scholar with distinction. Davis is pacing to be graduating second in his class of 213 peers, and has earned a weighted GPA of 4.47, or 4.0 unweighted.
On the extracurricular front, Davis served with his student council for four years, and excelled in National Honor Society. Davis served as production director for TedX Youth Vail for three years, working with presenters, securing sponsorships, and increasing student engagement. Davis also found time to shine as a decorated three-sport athlete, build schools in Honduras, take on summer jobs as a manual laborer, and mentor special needs peers through Best Buddies.
When discussing his goals post-high school, Davis explains he aims to, “Soak up all the knowledge and experience that I can from college but have fun all the while being involved in clubs and sports.” He hopes to study engineering and has been working tirelessly to provide personally for his education, as it is of utmost value to him.
