Every community has a few people who make it stronger, kinder, and more resilient—people who show up when we’re hurting and help us find our way back. In Edwards, Colorado, one of those people is Sean Juarez, a physical therapist at Vail Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, whose energy, kindness, and commitment to healing have left an indelible mark on this valley and beyond.

Born in Lakewood, Colorado, Sean’s journey has come full circle. He began his physical therapy career in a small private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, but the call of the mountains—and the community—brought him home. Now with nearly 10 years of experience, Sean has helped folks recover from a wide range of orthopedic conditions, with a particular passion for helping patients overcome low back pain—one of the most debilitating yet common struggles many face. Sean isn’t just a physical therapist—he’s a life-changer. He has helped an estimated 5,000+ individuals recover from injuries, regain strength (physically and mentally), and reclaim their lives. Sean attributes his professional passion to his mentor Merlon Pusey who practiced in the valley for 30 years, Personally, his connection to this field comes from having 2 surgeries in high school and recognizing the fun that being a physical therapist held, plus not sitting at a desk all day every day was a big plus. For many, including myself, Sean was there at one of the lowest points—bringing not only physical healing but the motivation to believe in recovery and activity again.
Whether it’s golfing, playing on (2) local softball teams, or just being out and about, it feels like everyone in this valley knows Sean. Mention Sean’s name to any local, and you’re bound to hear someone say, “Oh yeah, he helped me after my surgery,” or “He’s on my softball team!”, or “the shirt guy!” His impact spans clinics, mountain trails, golf courses, and friendships alike. You can’t miss Sean’s signature style, he’s almost always wearing a bright, patterned golf shirt. It’s become something of a symbol: approachable, lighthearted, and reassuring. That shirt tells you you’re in good hands… and probably about to smile, even in the middle of a tough rehab session.
Sean Juarez is more than a rehab wizard, he’s a community builder, a cheerleader for the underdog, and a person whose presence simply makes people feel better. His smile, his spirit, and his unmatched dedication have made him one of the most encouraging and inspiring people I’ve met in this valley. For all he’s done and continues to do, Sean is without a doubt a true difference maker.
