Positive peer influence
Mountain Youth relies on the power of positive peer influence through the science-based and best-practice approach of positive social norms marketing. Oftentimes youth behaviors and attitudes are influenced by perceptions of what they believe to be the “norm.” By spreading positive messages taken directly from the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey results, Mountain Youth attempts to align these misconceptions with reality.
Within Eagle County high schools and the community at large, Mountain Youth markets positive high school statistics through the “You Told Us” campaign. Since 2005, Mountain Youth has successfully implemented a social norms marketing campaign for high school students, and since 2010 for middle school students. Messages are disseminated through a variety of student-designed and selected items including stickers, lip balm and water bottles.
What are a few of the positive messages sure to bring a smile to your face?
