Safe Driving

Protecting Our Community by Protecting Our Roads — Drive Sober

In a community that rallies around festivals ladened with alcoholic beverages, it’s imperative to educate young people about the perils of impaired driving. Mountain Youth has stepped into the role to provide education, input and alternatives to the partying lifestyle. Mountain Youth will continue to educate young people on the importance of safe driving by providing sober driving options, reminding youth to choose sobriety and ultimately changing the overall community behavior when it comes to driving sober and safely. Through a five-year grant awarded by the State of Colorado, Mountain Youth will collaborate with local community partners to lower impaired and distracted driving throughout Eagle County.

Mountain Youth engages community stakeholders from a variety of sectors to be part of No DUI Steering Committee. Interested in being involved? Please contact Hillary Higgins.

NamaStay Sober

NamaStay Sober is a Massachusetts-based non-profit whose mission is to aid those recovering from addiction by reconnecting their bodies and minds through complimentary yoga and fitness memberships, a practice of self-awareness and a loving community.

Mountain Youth and NamaStay Sober are partnering with area yoga studios and fitness centers “to aid those recovering from addiction by reconnecting their bodies and minds through complimentary yoga & fitness memberships, a practice of self awareness and a loving community.” NamaStay Sober hosts community conversations that serve as a safe space of love, possibility and inspiration for all who attend.

Those in recovery apply here.

Once enrolled, members are expected to come to the studio consistently and attend monthly NamaStay Flowing community events. NamaStay Flowing events are open to the public and include a short meditation, brief check-in discussion, and either a speaker, group activity or fitness class. NamaStay Sober believes that everyone is recovering from something. Events are rooted in #inclusion and #connection and open to ALL.
